Transforming Infrastructure Live (formerly TIP LIVE) is a series of events designed to deliver transformative change in the way we design and deliver nationally significant infrastructure projects. The event is curated by the Institution of Civil Engineers and co-convened by the Infrastructure and Projects Authority with the support of the Infrastructure Client Group, the Construction Leadership Council and the National Infrastructure Commission. It is organised in collaboration with Meetings of Minds.

Driving a step change in infrastructure performance
The Infrastructure and Projects Authority’s report Transforming Infrastructure Performance: Roadmap to 2030 sets out a vision for innovation and reform in infrastructure delivery.
At its heart lies the need for a step change in productivity and efficiency in the ways we plan, design, manufacture, construct and operate infrastructure.

Translating intended
outcomes into delivery
The report calls for government departments and their delivery bodies to think robustly about how they translate intended outcomes into delivery. These outcomes are closely aligned to Government’s macro and long-term objectives such as levelling up, meeting UN Sustainable Development Goals and reaching net zero by 2050.
The deal for industry partners is to bring forward innovative solutions that accelerate progress through the use of new technologies that improve project performance while also investing in the skills and training to meet future skills needs in areas such as digital, automation, and sustainability.

Successful delivery of the roadmap
Successful delivery of the roadmap will require clients and suppliers to develop and adopt new ways of working across the board; to share information and embrace new technologies that deliver better performance and offer more balanced outcomes across the asset lifecycle.
